"These Caring Coins help me get through the day" says Stub

Youths assemble Caring Coins for shelters and food kitchens

Gracie is an inspiration to us all
People like Stub...
Stub (short for Stubborn) received a Caring Coin from his Visiting Nurse. He called us and told us that "this little coin helps me get through the day." Stub requested two dozen Caring Coins to share with the people in his Rooming House, who were struggling through hard times. He thought they would appreciate knowing someone cared about them. Not long after we had sent the coins, Stub called and said "You would have thought that I gave them a million bucks." He then requested another four dozen the share at a nursing home. We sent along the four dozen coins as he had requested. Stub continues to share the Caring Coins. He says "It makes me feel like I’m making a difference."
People in Recovery...
For many, the Caring Coins are a touchstone of caring and hope.
"My son's friend, who has been struggling with alcohol dependency, had been doing very well but had a slip. I sent him an Angel coin and a little note. Not long ago, I got a message on my tape thanking me for the Angel coin, saying he was back on track and the Angel coin was hanging in his truck."
"I sent coins to my twin godsons. One of the boys has been battling a serious drug addiction...the boys have told me how much having that coin in their pocket has helped in the struggle."
"Over the past several years, I have faced serious personal battles related to severe depression and alcoholism. I felt as if I was sinking into a deep pit of despair from which I couldn't seem to find a way out. I was given several coins and kept one under my pillow, one on my computer at work and ALWAYS one in my pocket. They served as a reminder to help me realize that I truly wasn't alone, that there was someone, something above watching over me and offering me the hope that my life could get better. Since then my life has improved dramatically. With my coins as a reminder and the help of loved ones and support groups, I have climbed out of that seemingly bottomless pit and have gotten the help I so desperately needed. I haven't been near a drink in 6 months, I feel better about myself and the world around me than I ever have before, I've gotten a new and exciting job, and most importantly I realize that I'll never be alone again. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the caring coins and the message that goes along with them. I feel a sense of inner peace, happiness, and strength that I hope and pray stays with me for the rest of my life."
Families in Shelters, Food Kitchens...
Numerous Caring Coins have been distributed at many shelters and food kitchens. Baskets of Caring Coins are placed where people can help themselves to the coins. The baskets empty very quickly.
The volunteers marvel at how quickly they disappear..."It seems like they are gone before we know it. They are a reminder of the people who care...I'll never forget on man saying to me...if somebody cares about me I must matter...we all need to know we matter."
Individuals Grieving a Loss...
Many individuals grieving the loss of a loved one have received a Caring Coin with the Remembering Card as a remembrance of their lost loved one.
"I gave Caring Coins with the Remembering Card to friend who had recently lost his son in an accident. Many people of all ages attended the "Celebration" of his son's life. Friends had come from around the world. He told me that they all loved the Caring Coins as a reminder of his son. He only wished he had had many more to share."
A young girl writes, "I have certainly come across many times when I've doubted my ability to live out in away without my friends and family, and have come across many struggles when I think about my friend who passed away last spring (when you saw me in church). Your coins really mean a lot to me and I hope that they remind me everyday that I can overcome any fears that I have when I am lonely out here. Thank you so much for the inspiration."
Our pets...
Many people share the Caring Coins with their pets.
"You will find it funny but my poor cat is home alone a great deal because I am at work a lot of course so I gave her a Caring Coin on a string to play with because I wanted her to know that she isn't really ever alone and she loves playing with it and drags it around all the time on that ribbon."
Gracie the goat wears her Caring Coin. "Our little Gracie wasn’t found when she was first born. She suffered frostbite on one hoof which she lost. She has another foot that she may loose as well. The tips of her ears were also affected with frostbite. No one expected Gracie to survive, but she has. And she has been an inspiration to many people young and old. Gracie loves her Caring Coin. We just have to be careful she doesn’t eat the raffia ribbon."
A young boy at Camp Agape, a camp for children with a parent in prison put a Caring Coin in his fish bowel for his fish. He said, "I don’t want my fish to be lonely. After all, he's my best friend. He’s always there for me."
The magic continues...
